CITY OF HITCHCOCK STIRS UP INAUGURAL LONE STAR GUMBEAUX FESTIVAL
Tasty gumbo and live music will fill downtown Hitchcock this spring as the City of Hitchcock presents its first ever Lone Star Gumbeaux Festival on Saturday, April 29th.
A gumbo cook-off featuring mouth-watering recipes from local restaurants, individuals and organizations will search for the best gumbo in Galveston County.
Cajun rockers “Bayou Roux” will perform throughout the afternoon with their own brand of Cajun, classic rock and country music.
Want to learn how to cook gumbo like a pro? Scheduled to demonstrate gumbo cuisine done Texas-style is Internet cooking personality Kelly Ellison of “Kelly Cooks Texas” who will also be selling her latest best-selling cookbook “Kelly Cooks Texas – TexMex & Southern Dishes to Spice Up Your Kitchen”.
Traditional festival foods and merchandise vendors will also be on-site during the event.
Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission and parking are free.
